Bayern Munich’s Champions League triumph in Lisbon has set up a mouth-watering tie in the UEFA Super Cup, as they’ll come up against Sevilla.
Budapest will play host to the final on September 24 as Sevilla hope to win their second UEFA Super Cup after a victory over Barcelona in 2006.
On August 19, UEFA organised a videoconference with the 55 general secretaries of its member associations, who suggested using the meeting between Sevilla and Bayern Munich as a trial to allow supporters back into stadiums.
It remains to be seen, though, if this will happen.
The two teams have only met once before, with a quarter-final in the 2017/18 Champions League seeing Bayern Munich progress 2-1 on aggregate.
