‘These numbers are too big for us’ -Klopp rules out signing Messi

Lionel Messi has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City, yet Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that they could not consider a move for the Barcelona captain as he is out of their price range.

Nevertheless, the German stated that he would be happy to see Messi in the Premier League, even if it was for one of their title rivals.

“Who doesn’t want Messi in their team?” Klopp responded when asked if he would be interested in signing the 33-year-old.

“The numbers are not for us, but a good player, to be honest.

“For the Premier League, it would be great, but I am not sure the Premier League needs that boost.

“He’s never played in another league. Football is different here.

“I’d like to see it, but I’m not sure I will.”
