Juventus proposes Dembele on loan as part of Pjanic’s deal

Barcelona’s hopes of landing Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic have been boosted with the Italian club reportedly keen to bring Ousmane Dembele in the other direction.

Advertisements

The 23-year-old has been blighted by injury and loss of form since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund for £138million in 2017.

Those lingering injury issues remain a cause for concern and so Juventus, according to the front page of Monday’s Mundo Deportivo, have asked Barcelona about the potential for a season-long loan with an option-to-buy Dembele as part of the Pjanic negotiations.

Barcelona need sales this summer to raise funds for their top players with Pjanic, Lautaro Martinez and Neymar their three preferred signings.

To get these players, Barcelona are acutely aware of the need to shift some of the big earners who are not meriting their spots in the team.

All in all Dembele has 74 appearances and 19 goals in his Barca career and is believed to be earning around £200,000-a-week.

Advertisements

Juventus’ hopes for a loan move for the Frenchman would appear to suggest they want to see how his body fares under the rigours of Italian football and an option-to-buy would arrive when he has a year left on his deal with Barcelona.

Barcelona boss Quique Setien has reportedly been keen to work with Dembele and maximise his potential.

But with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann, Ansu Fati and Martin Braithwaite, as well as the pursuit of Inter Milan striker Martinez, Dembele could be used as a crucial bargaining in getting a deal for Pjanic over the line.

Juventus had made Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo the top choice of player they wanted from the Nou Camp for any swap deal.

Advertisements

But reports in Spain reiterate that he does not want to move to Italy and so Barcelona need to find another player of interest to Juventus to keep the deal alive.

Pjanic, 30, is highly-valued by Juventus and they are unlikely to compromise their €60m (£53.6m) valuation despite the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Bosnian has been a major success at Juve since arriving from Roma in 2016, winning three Serie A titles and two Italian Cups.

Although there will be question marks surrounding Pjanic’s advancing years, Barca instead see his age as a positive in terms of experience that would be invaluable to the likes of young talent including Riqui Puig.

Juve puts Higuain on Transfer List

Juventus have reportedly slapped an €18m price tag on Gonzalo Higuain, who is being pursued by River Plate and clubs in England.

Advertisements

Higuain and River have been vocal in their admiration for one another throughout the coronavirus lockdown, but the Argentine side could be facing competition from Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

As per Tuttojuve, Juve are prepared to sell the striker this summer but for no less than €18m to ensure they do not make a loss from his sale on their balance sheet.

Advertisements

The Bianconeri paid €90m to take him from Napoli in 2016, and he has repaid them with 63 goals in 139 appearances, eight of which have come in the current campaign.

On the other hand, he can leave the Old Lady for nothing when his contract expires in June 2021.

Authur-Pjanic step close for swap deal but Authur shows no decision yet

The Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo is closer to Juventus. That’s at least what is being reported in the Italian newspaper Tuttosport on Sunday. A report claims the Barcelona coach, Quique Setien, has given the green light to the signing of the Bosnian Miralem Pjanic and the two clubs are close to an exchange agreement.

Advertisements

According to this information. Barça and Juve have valued both midfielders at 60 million euros, which would see both clubs bring in an ‘important’ amount of money. Both Juve and Barcelona also feel it’s a good deal on a sporting level. The Turin-based side plan to bet on the Uruguayan, Rodrigo Bentancur, 22, and have decided to let Pjanic, 30, leave.

The only problem for Juventus is that Arthur remains reluctant to leave Camp Nou. The same is not true of Pjanic. The Bosnian has given his permission to the deal. The main reason is the chance to play alongside Lionel Messi.

Emre Can describes Ronaldo ‘Winner And Leader’

Emre Can aims to win the German Bundesliga after moving from Juventus to Borussia Dortmund, who reminds him of Liverpool, and reveals that Cristiano Ronaldo’s mood depends on the results in the training matches.

Advertisements

The German international has immediately claimed in the starting line-up at BVB after his transfer in January but the Old Lady’s former midfielder can’t avoid questions regarding the talisman at the Allianz Stadium.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a leader and a winner,” he told Bild. “He also drives you in training games. If he loses, he remains in a bad mood.

“But if he wins, on the other hand, he is happy and never misses a chance to make fun of the losers and make them carry the defeat.”

Emre Can came through the Bayern Munich academy before moving to Bayer Leverkusen in 2013.

After one season, he was picked up by Premier League giants Liverpool and played four seasons at Anfield before moving to Juventus in July 2018.

At Juventus he struggled to convince Maurizio Sarri and moved back to Germany after 45 games across two seasons with the Bianconeri, confessing that the atmosphere at Signal Iduna Park reminds him of Anfield.

“I came here because I want to win the Championship,” he said about his move to the Westfalenstadion. “The environment is perfect and very reminiscent of that at Liverpool.

“It’s no coincidence that both clubs and fans love the same person, [former Dortmund coach] Jürgen Klopp.”

Pjanic States He’ll only join Barcelona

Barcelona look set to win the battle to land Miralem Pjanic from Juventus in the summer, with the midfielder reportedly stating he will only join the Spanish giants.

Advertisements

The 30-year-old had been a target for many of Europe’s top clubs including Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

But Reliable Sources confirmed, the Bosnian has already made up his mind where he will be playing next season by claiming ‘I’m only going to Barca’.

Pjanic looks set to depart the Allianz Stadium in the summer as part of a clearout at the Italian champions who hope to aid their financial concerns in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

~Pjanic

In recent days he has been linked with a swap move to the Nou Camp as the Spanish club look to limit their cash outlay with player swap deals.

However, such is their desperation to land Pjanic, a cash only deal will still be considered as a last resort.

Chelsea had approached Juventus in trying to pursue a deal, with PSG also hoping they could convince the Bosnian his future was in Paris.

The French champions’ sporting director Leonardo was hoping to offer Pjanic a big deal with ‘unmatched incentives’ but their approach has come too late with the player having already decided on his future away from Turin.

He has been a major success at Juve since arriving from Roma in 2016, winning three Serie A titles and two Italian Cups.

~Miralem Pjanic

Although there will be question marks surrounding Pjanic’s advancing years, Barca instead see his age as a positive in terms of experience that would be invaluable to the likes of young talent including Riqui Puig.

Pjanic is looking forward to a Barcelona challenge and the opportunity to playing alongside Lionel Messi having turned down the big money approach from PSG.

For Real? Could Authur be willing to leave Barca for juve?

Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo could, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, be willing to swap places with Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic after all.

Advertisements

The Brazilian has been linked with an exchange deal including the Bosnia international but has repeatedly claimed he wants to stay at Camp Nou.

But the reports in Italian and Spanish media won’t go away and now the Milan based newspaper claims the 23-year-old has opened for a move to the Allianz Stadium.

One small step forward for the proposed negotiations, as the two clubs will need to agree on a swap deal to look after their budgets after the financial crisis caused by the current pandemic.

The Blaugrana star has appeared 16 times in La Liga this season, contributing three goals and three assists in the process.

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri seems ready to sacrifice Pjanic but Juventus will reportedly not let the former Roma playmaker move to Barcelona unless Arthur comes in the other direction.

Barcelona are ready to press on with plans to sign Miralem Pjanic this summer, regardless of whether they can include players surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp as part of the deal, according to reports.

The Bosnian midfielder looks to be available to depart Juventus this summer with Maurizio Sarri plotting to freshen up his midfield, with Chelsea’s Jorginho and Barcelona’s Arthur two players of interest.

Juventus sets to find Suitors For Rabiot

Advertisements

Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has reportedly decided to stay in France until a set date for the resumption, a decision that could define his future at the club.

Advertisements

Tuttosport claims the Bianconeri are losing patience with the French midfielder, who arrived from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, and could be looking to find possible suitors for the former France international in the upcoming transfer market.

Rabiot and Gonzalo Higuain are the only two players yet to return from their homelands after the quarantine, as the Old Lady prepare to resume group training from Monday.

Higuain has been given an extra week of leave by the outfit due to personal reasons and is expected to return this weekend, but Rabiot has reportedly no excuse to remain on the French Riviera, where he is currently staying.

Advertisements

The newspaper reveals that the 25-year-old could return by car but has chosen not to and the club is yet to issue an official call and probably will not do so until there’s an official date of the resumption.

But the report highlights the rumours regarding the player’s unwillingness to return and how the Bianconeri directors are losing patience due to persistence of the player’s stay in France.

The Brazilian wants to remain with Barca, but according to the newspaper he could be required to move in the opposite direction to help the Spanish league leaders secure Pjanic’s services.

Juve Schedules Plan To Sell Bernardeschi

Advertisements

Juventus are reportedly planning to offer Federico Bernardeschi as part of the proposed deal to bring Roma starlet Nicolò Zaniolo to Turin.

Advertisements

The two sides swapped Leonardo Spinazzola for Cagliari loan-star Luca Pellegrini last summer and Bryan Cristante was previously linked with a deal including Rolando Mandragora, who eventually moved from Juve to Udinese.

Tuttosport claims the Bianconeri are trying to take advantage of an uncertain time financially in the capital and could offer the former Fiorentina winger as a part of the deal to bring Zaniolo to the Allianz Stadium.

The newspaper writes that Roma would like to keep the Italy international, who is currently recovering from a knee injury he sustained during a match against the Old Lady in January, but could have to consider sacrificing the playing to fix their budget this summer.

Bernardeschi has struggled to convince coach Maurizio Sarri this term and has appeared 18 times, starting only nine games in Serie A this season.

Rakitic wants to fulfil his Barcelona contract

Advertisements

Despite all the talk surrounding Ivan Rakitic’s future and possible transfers to either Atletico Madrid or Sevilla, the Croatian midfielder wants to fulfil his Barcelona contract, which is set to run until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Advertisements

The club is desperate to sell him to bring in a significant financial return, but he hasn’t been keen on leaving the Camp Nou to this point.

Rakitic wants to be the master of his own destiny, and decide his own fate as a free agent.

Barcelona will only deal with clubs who offer a significant financial package for the former Schalke midfielder, yet he wants to be able to choose to sign for whomever he wishes in the summer of 2021.

Advertisements

A potential swap with Juventus involving the Croatian and Federico Bernardeschi had been discussed, but Rakitic isn’t especially enthused about joining the Bianconeri.

PSG were linked in the summer of 2019 as part of the Blaugrana’s attempts to re-sign Neymar, although that was a fruitless endeavour.

~Ivan Rakitic

In recent days, Barcelona have reinitiated contact with both Juventus and Inter in the hope of finding a destination for Rakitic, with the club hoping his inclusion in a deal could significantly lower the price they would need to pay in order to sign Lautaro Martinez.

Rakitic is most attracted to Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, he is very comfortable in Spain, but neither club would be able to pay the high transfer fee that Los Cules would demand.

As such, the Croatian international is willing to play the waiting game in order to remain in LaLiga Santander.

~Ivan Rakitic

Furthermore, the changing fiscal landscape of football as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic has made it even less likely that the two aforementioned Spanish clubs will have the funds to purchase him in 2020, and he is acutely aware of this.

For Barcelona, the task now is to try and force the midfielder out of the club by making clear he will have very little chance of playing next season, they know that selling Rakitic will take a high earner off the wage bill and also bring in money that go directly into the club’s budget for reinforcements.

Juventus ‘firmly in the hunt’ for Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez

Juventus are reportedly still interested in signing Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez.

Advertisements

The Colombia international is widely expected to leave the Bernabeu during this summer’s transfer window, having found it difficult to contribute this season after returning from a two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich.

A number of clubs, including Arsenal, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United, have been credited with an interest in the 28-year-old.

However, according to reports in Spain, Juve are firmly in the hunt for the South American, who could allegedly be available for a figure in the region of €40m (£35m) ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Old Lady boss Maurizio Sarri is said to view Rodriguez as the perfect player to provide extra support for Cristiano Ronaldo in the final third of the field.

The playmaker’s current deal at the Bernabeu is due to expire next summer.

€20m-rated PSG outcast Draxler offered to Juve and Milan

Advertisements

AC Milan and Juventus have been offered the chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Julian Draxler ahead of the summer, a report claims.

Advertisements

The Rossoneri have been linked with a move for Draxler over the last few months with suggestions from Tuttosport in January that Lucas Paqueta could be sent to the French capital in exchange for the German international.

According to Calciomercato.com, Draxler’s career has come to a crossroads, and he will make a decision whether he has a future with PSG or whether he will seek new pastures in order to return to playing consistently.

So far this season, the 26-year-old has played just 685 minutes in Ligue 1 and 22 in the Champions League, and for Thomas Tuchel he is not a key figure, therefore he is likely to leave Paris in the summer one year before his contract expires in June 2021.

Advertisements

Draxler currently earns €7million gross per year and his valuation is €20million. The price is negotiable, but still remains high, with Marseille and Nice having tried in recent months, but now it’s Hertha Berlin’s turn.

All of the aforementioned options though involved reducing his salary, an that Draxler rejected.

His agents are proposing the former Schalke star to various clubs, including Italian ones like Juventus and Milan. The Rossoneri in fact were offered the chance to sign him when Leonardo was the sporting director, but it is not to be excluded that his entourage returns to try and get things done, though his wages are a big obstacle.

Juve Sets To Extend Dybala’s Contract

Advertisements

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has confirmed the club are in the process of extending Paulo Dybala’s contract.

Advertisements

The Argentine star has impressed Maurizio Sarri this season – scoring 13 goals in 34 games and providing 12 assists – and is once again becoming a key player for the current Serie A leaders.

Dybala was on course to join either Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur last summer after struggling to adapt to playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo under previous boss Massimiliano Allegri.

But now it appears Dybala is likely to remain at the club after Juventus chief Paratici confirmed the club want the 26-year-old to be part of the club for a long time yet.

‘We’re working to extend Paulo Dybala’s contract,’ Paratici told Sky Sport Italia.

‘We want him as part of Juventus for many years,’ he added.

Advertisements

The news comes after claims from Tuttosport earlier this month that Dybala is determined to follow in the footsteps of Alessandro Del Piero and become a club legend.

Dybala’s current contract expires in the summer of 2022 and is worth £6million-per-year.

An the Italian outlet reported an option appeared to be gradual increases in his salary on an annual basis, with the deal littered with bonus clauses based on his future success at the club.

Advertisements

He has already spent five years at Juventus following a move worth £35million from Palermo.

During his time in Turin, he has played 216 games for the club, netting 91 goals and providing 36 assists.

According to Spanish programme El Chiringuito, Dybala has tested positive for coronavirus four times in the past six weeks, so there are concerns about a return to training amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Inter to challenge Juventus, Madrid & PSG for signing of Pogba

Advertisements

Inter are determined to challenge Juventus, Real Madrid and PSG for the signing of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, claims La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Advertisements

It is widely reported the France international will leave Old Trafford this summer, especially after the club did not take up its option to extend his contract.

While Juve are trying to use players as part of an exchange, such as Miralem Pjanic and Douglas Costa, Inter would be more inclined to use a cash sum.

They should have a huge influx of transfer funds if PSG and Bayern Munich take up their options to buy Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic, which would bring in almost €100m.

Advertisements

While Pogba would like to reunite with Antonio Conte, there is no doubt he remains very attached to Juventus, regularly in contact with former teammates and visiting the city of Turin.

There is also the option of another challenge at Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, as despite barely playing this season due to injury, Pogba has many interested clubs lining up.
