According to a statement released by the Minister’s Chief Press Secretary Anthony Ogunleye, Bello stated that the FCT Administration views the actions of the organisers and attendees at the concert as reckless, wicked, insensitive and utter disrespect and disregard both for the law and the wellbeing and welfare of fellow citizens.

Muhammad Bello urged residents of the FCT to observe health guidelines outlined by authorities as he pointed out that several guidelines instituted by the FCT administration to curb the spread of Coronavirus, was violated at the drive-in concert. He said;

“The FCT Administration which has a responsibility to protect the lives of the citizenry is determined to prosecute all those involved in orchestrating these infractions to the full extent of the law”.

The concert has caused controversies online, with Jabi Lake Mall being shut down by the FCT administration following a mobile court’s judgment, and Executive Jet Services seeing their license being suspended.

Recall with NRM that the Chairman/CEO of Executive Jet Services, Sam Iwuajoku in his apology letter to the Minister of Aviation said the flight Naira Marley and his crew boarded was meant for a Judge. He said the Judge however reached Abuja on a different flight.

He added that after his staff sent a passenger manifest bearing the name Fashola Babatunde, he felt it was a serving minister of the federal republic of Nigeria not knowing it was a “bunch of useless people”.

It’s ridiculous to link me with Naira Marley’s flight – Fashola

Advertisements

In a latest report, the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has disclosed that he has not travelled out of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, since
March 22.

This comes after a letter reportedly written by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Executive Jets Services Limited, Sam
Iwuajoku, over circumstances surrounding a Lagos-Abuja-flight operated on Saturday.

Recall with Noble Reporters Media that the airline was suspended by
FG for flying in controversial artiste, Azeez Fashola better known as Naira Marley, and his team to Abuja to attend a concert.

The Chairman of the airline in a letter of apology claimed that he gave the approval for the flight thinking the
passenger was Babatunde Fashola.

Advertisements

Reacting in a statement via Punch report on Tuesday, Fashola’s Special Adviser on
Communications, Hakeem Bello, said, “The attention of the Office
of the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde
Fashola SAN, has been drawn to a letter signed by the Chairman/
CEO of Executive Jets Services Limited, Dr Sam Iwuajoku
concerning a flight it operated to Abuja last weekend.

“For purposes of clarity and in order to set the records straight, the Hon. Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola SAN, has not travelled out of Abuja since March 22, 2020, when he returned there after an inspection tour of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway construction work and a visit to Lagos, before the lockdown.

Advertisements

“The decision of the Hon. Minister not to travel was taken in strict compliance with the Federal Government’s ban on inter-state travels as part of efforts to control the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is therefore ridiculous for Dr Iwuajoku to attempt to link the Hon.
Minister with any non-compliant flight.”

Amid Jabi ban – FG suspend Aviation Co. that fly Naira Marley to Abuja

Advertisements

The Federal Government has suspended ExecuJet services, the aviation company that owns the private jet used to fly Naira Marley from Lagos to Abuja for his drive-in concert on Saturday, June 13.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, who announced this at the daily briefing of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 today June 15, said the aviation company violated the Federal government’s approval.

According to him, an approval was given to the company to fly Justice Adefope Okoji from Lagos to Abuja and back to Lagos on an official assignment. However, they used the approval to fly in Naira Marley.

Advertisements

Well, we approved a flight but certainly not for any musician. The flight, from the application, was to convey Honourable Justice Adefope Okojie from Lagos to Abuja and back to Lagos for an official assignment.

“In this challenging time, in our wisdom, we considered the judiciary to be part of the essential service to be delivered. Having to move the Hon. Justice from Lagos to Abuja was in order. The approval was given for the 14th of June, 2020, however, we do give them a leeway of 24 hours sometimes due to operational reasons.

Advertisements

They can operate the flight slightly earlier or slightly forward within 24 hours. In this case, the operator choose to fly on the 13th at about 6:00 pm. So, that itself is not a violation to operate earlier because we gave him the leeway.

The operator is Executive Jets Services and the approval was very clear and I will read part of it. This is the letter from the ministry of Aviation to the Chairman of the Executive Jets Services and it was signed by the Director of Air Transport Management on my behalf.”

Announcing the sanctions on the company, Sirika said

“The operation is a clear violation of our approvals which we take seriously, it seems this is becoming a norm, it’s the second time.

Advertisements

Execujet services are hereby suspended indefinitely. We’ll also fine them maximally according to the law. The captain of the flight will be sanctioned for giving wrong information to the control tower”.

On Sunday, June 14, the Federal Capital Territory Administration sealed off Jabi Lake Mall on Sunday for two weeks over Naira Marley’s concert which violated the government’s ban on public gathering.

There is no coronavirus – Nigerian Singer, Zlatan.

Nigerian musician, Zlatan Ibile seems to be among the set of people that believe coronavirus is not real, just like his friend and colleague, Naira Marley.

It’s no secret that the Coronavirus pandemic has affected the entire earth affecting both the rich and poor, young and old. Thousands have lost their lives within a short period and many are still being treated while some are on the verge of dying.

However, some people have come out to express total disbelief in the pandemic and because of that different conspiracy theories have sprung up.

Zlatan happens to have the same belief and the “Zanku” crooner made this know during an Instagram live session with Nigerian singer and songwriter, Bankulli.

Recall that Naira Marley also faced some backlash last month when he said that he does not believe in coronavirus. Many of his critics and even fans disagreed with him to the point that he was dragged on social media for 2 days.

COVID-19 Lockdown: Lagos govt retire case against Naira Marley, Gbadamosi.

The Lagos State Government has withdrawn the charges it filed against musician, Naira Marley, and a politician, Babatunde Gbadamosi for violating lockdown.

Naira Marley, Gbadamosi and his wife were charged before the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba for attending a crowded birthday party in violation of the government’s social distancing directive to check the spread of coronavirus.

They were scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday but the government, according to one of the defence counsel, Mr Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), withdrew the four counts filed against the three defendants.

Policemen had earlier barred journalists from the court premises.

At the end of the proceedings, Adegboruwa briefed journalists on what transpired in the courtroom.

He said the state withdrew the charges on the condition that the defendants would tender an apology to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Nigerians demand arrest of Naira Marley, Funke Akindele, JJC, others.

Nigerians took to social media on Sunday to criticize entertainer, Afeez Fashola known as Naira Marley.

The criticism was stirred by the party hosted by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele and her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello, Nigerian singer, and producer, better known as JJC Skillz.

The couple went against both Lagos State and Federal government orders on Saturday as they hosted a house party in celebration of JJC Skillz’s birthday amidst coronavirus lockdown.

The party was crowded with popular faces such as Naira Marley and Eniola Badmus in attendance.

The couple even went ahead to showcase photos and videos on social media.

Nigerians are now calling for the arrest of the celebrities including Naira Marley who is under trial for his alleged involvement in credit card fraud.

@NotJustSalmanPR, “Sidney pranked us, he got away with it. If the government doesn’t arrest everyone that attended that Funke Akindele’s house party, Maybe everyone should just go back to their normal lives and let the virus kill all of us.”

@Ewaoluwa wrote: “NCDC ambassador, Funke Akindele and everyone at the party should be locked up now.”

“You’ll see Naira Marley in anything that has to do with stupidity,” a Twitter user wrote.

Another said: “See the Crowd at Funke Akindele’s Party with Naira Marley in attendance, Eniola Badmus and people who just barely returned from the UK.

“The height of irresponsibility!”

However, in a now-deleted tweet, Funke Akindele said everyone who attended the house party was camped in her Estate before the lockdown.

Below are some reactions to Funke Akindele’s explanation:
