The Senior Pastor of The Covenant Nation Poju Oyemade has disclaimed widespread media reports stating that he disagreed with prominent pastors Chris Oyakhilome and Bishop David Oyedepo.
“My attention has been drawn to articles going around some websites that an article I wrote on how one can remain effective during these times was written in response to Bishop Oyedepo’s statement on the closure of churches. That assumption/inference is simply incorrect,” Oyemade said in a statement on Saturday.
Pastor Oyakhilome and Bishop Oyedepo had recently spoke against the continuous closure of churches as the coronavirus pandemic lingers saying it was against the expansion of the church.
However, Oyemade in a post on his Instagram page said that the closure of churches does not in any way stop the Holy Spirit from working, hence, it was nothing against the church expansion.
Several news reports inferred that Oyemade’s post showed a “disagreement” with Pastor Oyakhilome and Bishop Oyedepo.
But Oyemade’s post from which the news reports were written came 48 hours before Oyedepo’s comment.
“Facts can easily be verified by checking time-lines. My article was written before Bishop Oyedepo spoke. I do understand that certain narratives drive traffic to websites and sowing seeds of division does attract attention.
“I will like to make it clear and on record that my article was written 48 hours before he spoke. In the article, I did emphasise that criticising other ministries and churches’ operations is not a sign of strength on one’s part, so the article contradicts the conclusions being inferred”, Oyemade said.
Christ Embassy leader, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, in an online sermon on Tuesday, spoke against the wearing of facemask.
Pastor Chris opined that the use of facemasks in a time like this, is an embarrassment to science. He added “If we go by science, you should not wear masks in public.”
The clergyman also said that various scientists, virologists and Immunologists in the world have come out to support his initial claim that the enforcement of a lockdown in battling a pandemic isn’t scientific.
Founder of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has attacked pastors who supported the closure of Churches during the lockdown period caused by coronavirus.
In the video below, Oyakhilome stated that the pastors should have first asked the government to permit them to pray for coronavirus patient before accepting the closure of Churches.
“In different cities, countries, states, before the government went ahead with the lockdown, they held meetings with pastors, leaders of churches. Why did the pastors and leaders not say give us a few days to go and pray? Because they were not prayerful before.
“As a Minister of God, you were called for such a meeting and you couldn’t say give us a few days to call other Ministers and say this is what we just heard from the government authorities and we need to pray. We have asked them to give us three days. Then you would have seen the hand of God,” he said.
He added that the pastors who accepted the closure of Churches and even warned members to stay away don’t really know Jesus as their Lord.
“They were not thinking about the father’s house when they made the decision. Do you know what it is for you to shut down the congregations of the lord? It never meant anything to you, that is why.
“Even the pastors and Ministers are warning others not to enter the church because of coronavirus. This is because Christ has never truly being your lord and you have been the master of your life. You have never truely known him,” Oyakhilome added.
Daddy Freeze has taken a big swipe at Pastor Chris Oyakhilome over his recent comment of the federal government having a secret plan for 5G.
Recall that the founder of Loveworld Ministries a.k.a Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris had alleged that the Federal government placed a lockdown in Lagos and Abuja to install the controversial 5G network. He said this while preaching in his church on Sunday April 5.
He opined that what has killed so many people in Wuhan, China is not Coronavirus as has been reported but rather it is the 5G network installed there. He challenged anyone with a different opinion to come forward.
Daddy Freeze who reacted to Pastor Chris’ comment, stated that it is rooted deeply in illusory correlation, attitude polarization and belief perseverance. He added that Christ Embassy founder’s recent teachings is dangerous.
“I am disappointed in Chris Oyakhilome. How can the Federal Government has secret 5G plan? What on earth is this? How can he get away with saying such things? The deaths in Wuhan were caused by 5G not Corona virus? Like WTF?
“According to him, the federal government needed to lockdown Lagos and Abuja to install 5G? Really? Like the government needs anyone’s approval to install anything.
“As far as I’m concerned, this is rooted deeply in illusory correlation, attitude polarization and belief perseverance, making teachings like these dangerous.
“How I wish I can ‘unhear’ this, I can’t believe I just wasted a part of the few daylight hours at my disposal listening to such.”
